The Cayes.  Just 12 miles off-shore is tiny Tobacco Caye, ideal for travelers on a limited budget who'd like to enjoy an island experience.  Visit South Water Caye for a more up-market resort experience.  Further east lies Glover's Reef

 
Dangriga's central commercial district and main street.  Here you'll find 3 major banks, shops and supermarkets, police station, immigration, stationery shops, pharmacies and so on.  Looking for some night-time entertainment, or want to sample Belize's famous Belican beer?  There are plenty of clubs and bars nearby.

Garifuna Culture.  Visit the Garinagu capital, Dangriga, and soak up some vibrant African-American heritage.  Dangriga boasts the Gulisi Garifuna Musem, the annual Garifuna Settlement Day parade (November 19), the famous Garifuna drumming as well as a great variety of locally-produced arts and crafts.  Dangriga is also a home of punta rock, a combination of Garifuna drumming and electrified rock instruments.  Would you like to take lessons in Garifuna culture and language?  Talk to the team at Val's - we can arrange everything.
Mayan Culture, National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries.  Val's Backpacker's Hostel in Dangriga is a great base from which to explore three of the country's national parks (Mayflower Bocawina, Blue Hole and Billy Barquedier) and the famous Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, as well as Commerce Bight GraGra Wildlife Sanctuary.
